ScholarEdit Insights is the quarterly digital magazine of ScholarEdit Academy, dedicated to critical reflection and professional analysis on academic publishing, scientific communication, research policies, and related topics. If you would like to publish in our journal, you will find all the information you need to prepare and submit your contribution here.

What type of articles do we publish?

The magazine is not subject to peer review, but maintains high editorial standards. We accept original, well-argued contributions of educational or analytical value in the following sections:

  • Key topics is the central article of the issue. It addresses a strategic topic related to science, publishing, or academic policy in depth. A critical and well-founded approach is expected. The suggested length is 1,800 to 2,500 words. It is published under a CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license with an assigned DOI.
  • Expert voices is dedicated to articles offering analysis and reasoned reflection on strategic issues in the scientific and publishing ecosystem. It includes contributions addressing topics such as journal visibility, management models, open access, technological innovation, metrics, institutional frameworks, and editor training. Texts should combine clarity, conceptual rigor, and thematic relevance. The suggested length is 1,500 to 2,500 words. All articles are published under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 license and are assigned a DOI.

  • Editorial is a brief reflection on a current or institutionally relevant issue related to scientific communication or editorial management. The suggested length is 800 to 1,200 words.
  • Interviews are dialogues with leading figures from the publishing, scientific, or academic fields. Interviews may be proposed by the author or coordinated by the editorial team. The length is flexible, and they should be presented in a narrative style or question-and-answer format.
  • Tools and resources is a section aimed at providing brief, practical information on digital platforms, strategic documents, institutional policies, and other relevant resources that may contribute to strengthening science and science communication. Its objective is to offer academic readers a clear and useful summary of key resources for editorial management, scientific evaluation, and research visibility. The suggested length for texts in this section is 400 to 800 words.

  • Case studies and experiences welcomes testimonials, narrative analyses, or institutional reports that highlight best practices in academic publishing, scientific production evaluation, or the positioning of journals, research groups, and universities. This section seeks to highlight specific initiatives that can serve as references, inspiration, or collective learning. The suggested length is 800 to 1,200 words.

  • Book reviews are critical reviews of recent academic books relevant to publishers, researchers, or scientific managers. The suggested length is 800 to 1300 words.

Editorial guidelines for articles

Before submitting your text, please ensure that you follow these basic guidelines:

  • Articles must be written in Spanish or English (clear style, formal tone).
  • Only unpublished texts will be accepted. The author must declare that they have not been published or submitted for evaluation in any other medium.
  • Use an editable format (.docx) and avoid complex tables or graphs (these can be included in image format if they are essential).
  • Please include at the end of the document:
    • Full name of author
    • Affiliated institution
    • Short biography (80 to 100 words)
    • Contact email address
    • Photo (optional)
  • If artificial intelligence was used in the writing (e.g., for correction or style suggestions), this must be explicitly stated in a separate note.
  • If citing, use APA 7th edition style for referencing.

Important: The magazine reserves the right to edit style, titles, and metadata to ensure editorial consistency.

How to submit a proposal?

You can send your article or preliminary proposal to the following email address: revista@scholareditacademy.org with the subject: ScholarEdit Insights CollaborationThe editorial team will respond within a maximum of 10 working days, confirming acceptance, requesting adjustments, or suggesting inclusion in a future issue.

Copyright and license

All accepted texts will be published under the license. Creative Commons Atribución-NoComercial-CompartirIgual 4.0 (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). This means that your work may be shared and adapted for non-commercial purposes, provided that you acknowledge authorship.

The articles in the section Key Topics Key topics and Expert Voices will be assigned a DOI and disseminated through open academic visibility platforms.
